Welcome, this is Mike Axelrod’s blog. I live in Fairport NY. That’s a suburb of Rochester New York. That’s in upstate NY, (not anywhere near NYC). We are up by lake Ontario halfway between Buffalo and Syracuse.
Professional stuff:
Currently I spend most of my working time as a software engineer at Pictometry, the aerial Oblique Photography company. Additionally I have spent some time as an independent consultant specializing in Social Media Engineering where I have offered my clients architectural planning, advising and development. I have a large breadth and depth in computing technology experience. My career has taken me from the logic gate (hardware) all the way up through operating systems, embedded systems, graphics application development, world wide web applications and social media. Currently I find myself diving ever deeper into the world of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) as I help create next generation GIS tools for Pictometry customers.
